So the month ended nicely putting us up +$7500 for the month. I'm pleased with this. So for the year, we're up 10k over what my goal was for the year. I was probably a bit conservative, but none the less, I am happy that we are continuing to make progress. Not quite a 2% increase, but over time, it adds up. So we could possibly hit 15% for the year which I'll take. And if I can continue that over next year, well, we'll be sitting in a good spot.
I managed to squeeze in just in time to Countrywide's 12 month CD at 5.65%. I also opened a Savingslink account with them at 5.50%. I'll keep a few bucks over at HSBC, but for the rates I'm going getting at Countrywide, I'll put 99% over there. Hopefully HSBC will come up with a new "new money" rate that can beat Countrywide even if just for a couple months. My guess is they're going to have do something to get competitive. Emigrant Direct is a quarter point better and countrywide a full point. Etrade is still standing at 5.05. And then ING is bringing up the rear at 4.3. As the forerunner to the high interest online accounts, that kind of surprises me. Oh well... my money will go back to HSBC or ING if they can compete, but right now, they're not.
