Well, 2007 didn't end the way I'd hoped. Unless Monday is a meltdown, I'm still ahead of my year end goals, but the year didn't finish as strong as I would have liked. I'm hoping I'll still be up 15% for the year, but it could be close. I was hoping I'd be closer to 20%, but the past two months have been tough.
Things to do in 2009. Watch my/our spending! Less fast food, less coffee, etc, etc.
I'll have my year end numbers by January 3rd and hopefully also my revised 2008 goals. At the beginning of 2007 I started my tracking and I did 1, 2, and 5 year goals. So hopefully I'm already close to some of my 2 year goals now :).

Year not finishing like I'd hoped...
An ugly finish to an otherwise good year in my financial world. A good start to me really keeping track of my savings, retirement, assets, and liabilities. I thought we'd end the year up over the 400k mark, but that goal seems to be crashing down with the market. My original year end goal should still be cleared, but we are really taking a beating the last two months. Maybe a fantastic rally the next week will help, but things are not looking good.
To top it off, I have been spending like a maniac on Christmas gifts. What can I say? It is by far my favorite holiday.

Customer service? What's that?
So I FINALLY got through to Verizon. Even getting a LIVE person to speak with is next to impossible. Anyway, in August I signed up for their Triple Play package/bundle or whatever they call it. This is where you get phone, internet, and FIOS tv for 99 a month. After the first bill, things didn't quite seem right and they said it'll take a cycle or two to get the bill going correctly (not really sure why it would take so long) and my account was credited. Last month the bill seemed a bit steep but I let it slide (=lazyness), but this month the bill was the same. The CS Rep asked if I ever went online and accepted the terms of service. I said, no and that I was never told to do that. He told me yeah, that I would have to do that and he told me where to go. I asked if I'd get credited and he said he could do it for this month. I said, well, I called in JULY to get things going and service was setup in August. Wouldn't me calling and requesting the bundle constitute me agreeing to their terms? WTF is wrong with people?
Anyway, Long story short, my bill will be about 25 bucks cheaper a month. Hopefully I don't have to call them back anytime soon. PAIN IN MY A$$!!!

Back down again - November Networth Update
Well, November was definitely not a banner month, but luckily the market did a bit of rallying at months end. Unfortunately, not quite enough. Results for the month: $-3200.
This puts me a bit far from where I was hoping to be at years end. Granted, unless something terrible happens, I'll be well above my goal for the year, but I had made a new goal in my head of a # I was shooting for by Dec. 31, but I think it may be out of reach now with November's losses.
Overall a good year. I'm definitely still learning and have soooo much more to learn. There are some exciting developments on the horizon for my professional life so stay tuned. This could definitely have a positive effect on my financial goals.
We will soon see....
